Triple H Stripped of
Intercontinental Championship!
This is
straight from the WWF AOL site. At this point, I
have no idea
who the new
champion will be, or even who will be competing for
it,
except that it
will be an eight man tournament.
From WWF.com:
“On Thursday night’s
Byte This – the official internet show of WWF.COM
– hostess Terri
Filipetti, a woman who has seen many superstars come
and go in the
World Wrestling Federation over the years, suggested
that Federation
owner Vince McMahon was planning to strip Hunter
Hearst Helmsley
of the Intercontinental Championship. Just moments
ago, WWF.COM
received confirmation, via an inter-office E-mail
from
the owner, that
Triple H has indeed been bereft of his championship
status, with a
tournament taking place this Monday on RAW IS WAR.
Apparently,
McMahon was in a foul mood this morning. After all,
the
past two weeks
have been particularly harrowing for him. He was
just
released from a
recovery unit yesterday, where he was undergoing
treatment
following separate attacks by Stone Cold Steve
Austin and
Kane and the
Undertaker on RAW is WAR.
WWF.COM has
McMahon’s memorandum. We present it to you verbatim.
TO: ALL
TITANSPORTS EMPLOYEES
FROM: MR.
MCMAHON
DATE: OCTOBER
9, 1998
RE.: HUNTER
HEARST HELMSELY
Effective
immediately, Hunter Hearst Helmsley is no longer the
Intercontinental Champion. Mr. Helmsley, due to an
injury that has
required too
much time for rehabilitation, has not defended the
Intercontinental Belt within the 30-day allotted
timeframe. Therefore,
I have had no
recourse than to strip him of the championship, and
put
it up for
contention in a one-night tournament among the top
contenders on
RAW IS WAR. This Monday, a new Intercontinental
Titleholder
will be crowned.”

Below is a
letter from Dana Hall, the estranged wife of Scott
Hall.
This letter was
sent to me by Jared Spinelli, about as good a source
as it gets. To

Dana & Scott
Hall are engaged in a bitter custody battle and that
should be kept
in mind when reading her letter.
Dana Hall-
Scott Hall's Ex-Wife Speaks Out
The Following
was written by Dana Hall, Scott Hall's Ex-Wife.
OPEN LETTER TO
ANYONE WHO CARES
WCW is helping
Scott Hall destroy himself - does anybody care?
WCW recently
stated on the Oct. 5 Nitro show that they "did not
condone Scott
Hall's behavior, and that Scott Hall is a very sick
man."
Although WCW
states this, why are they allowing him to retain his
status (which
he so sorely abuses) to clearly break policies
(stated
as a breach of
contract), and taking every opportunity to exploit
and
humiliate his
very real sickness, as "entertainment"? My question
to
them is "What
are they going to do about it?"
Are they going
to get him the serious help he needs?
If this is just
a storyline and "not real", then how can they
explain
Scott's recent
arrest, and the very public displays of intoxication
other than in
front of the camera?
Although
"recent" events on the show have been staged, the
storyline
they are
portraying is in fact the terrible truth. Scott has
had an
ongoing
addiction problem for 20 years, resulting in the
destruction
of his marriage
and family. Is this entertainment? Scott's stumbling
around and
vomiting on stage may be "fake", but what he is
doing in
"real" life is
the same thing. Wrestling has just become "real" in
the
case of Scott
Hall.
Scott may be
"acting" out his addiction problem now on TV, but
there
have been many
times in the past that he was truly under the
influence
and WCW allowed
him to perform. This storyline is just a cover-up
for
their
irresponsibility’s and their failed attempts to try
to
rehabilitate
Scott. Now they have decided to exploit his very
real
problem with
his addiction to drugs and alcohol as a means of
entertainment
to the fans for profit and ratings, only to stand by
and
watch him
destroy himself.
These stagings
of a matter so serious are deplorable, disgusting
and
inexcusable.
The wrestling industry is so twisted and sick, and
clearly without
conscience. It does not need to be this way. WCW has
overstepped the
line in this case, as far as I am concerned.
This is not
entertainment. This is not funny anymore. The
storyline
needs to come
to a conclusion. This man has two young children,
who
need him to get
100% well. They are being terribly affected by their
fathers'
behavior as well as the WCW's enabling and
exploitation of it.
His children
and family members (with whom he chooses to have no
relationship
with) do not deserve this pain and embarrassment for
the
public's
"entertainment". Scott is obviously not
rehabilitated. A
40-yr old man
"keying a limo" is a definite "cry for help". Now he
has
added a felony
to his list of on-going unacceptable, disturbing
incidents.
Scott has obviously lost all judgement, dignity and
sense
of what's
right, and WCW has taken advantage of that.
This can no
longer be denied or ignored.
What kind of
message is this display of something so serious
sending
to children
whether it be staged or not??? Doesn't Scott have a
responsibility
as a public personality and role model to behave in
a
decent manner?
He is clearly abusing his status, intimidating and
disrespecting
people, breaking laws, hurting his family...and WCW
is
allowing this.
WCW clearly has
had several reasons to fire him, but instead they
made
a meager
attempt to try to rehabilitate him, and it quite
clearly did
not work, so
they are just using him for as long as they can. It
is
inevitable that
as long as Scott continues on this path, he will
ultimately
destroy himself. Is this what the fans want to see?
Scott needs to
be urged in any way possible, by everyone, to turn
his
life around. He
has already lost so much. It is very sad, especially
to his children
who need this man to be well, to be a father to
them.
He has lost so
much already. I cannot, as the only responsible and
fit
parent they
have, allow his children in his presence
unsupervised
under the
circumstances. Can you imagine how hard it is for
them to
understand this
mess and why their dad chooses to be sick, and not
get
well, for
himself and for them? They need and deserve a "well"
father
- not a dad
who's a wrestler. Scott will never be able to get
well as
long as he is a
"wrestler," and exposed to all its sickness. It has
fed his
addiction and allowed it to grow for years, and now
they are
feeding off it.
This is wrong any way you look at it.
I am begging
everyone on behalf of his children, to help get
Scott to
a place where
he can see this, and put himself in God's hands and
find
a way out of
this living hell he has created for himself - a hell
that
the wrestling
industry has greatly contributed to through the
years
and now chooses
to exploit. This cannot be allowed to continue. My
children and I
have no peace in our lives as long as Scott remains
sick and is
enabled.
Addictions and
wrestling have destroyed our marriage and our
family,
and are
continuing to destroy my children's future, and
their father -
Scott Hall.
Something can,
and needs to be done by the people who hold power in
this situation
and those who claim to be his friends - for the sake
of
his children.
Please speak
out, as I feel in my heart it is the right thing to
do.
Dana Hall.

I am a Canadian
and also a huge ECW fan. I am disappointed in the
fact that I can
not get ECW up here and I'm sure all the other ECW
fans in Canada
are too. But, there is a chance that we can change
this. I would
like to ask all ECW fans in Canada to email TSN at
audiencerelations@xxxxcsn.ca
telling them politely that they would like
to see ECW on
their station. Maybe if we send enough emails, TSN
would put ECW
into their programming schedule. Below is a letter
that I
have already sent to TSN.
-------------------------------------
Dear Sir/Madam,
I don't
understand why you don't carry ECW. I know that
you're FAQ
says that it is
too violent, but compared to the WWF or WCW, its
really not all
that bad. I agree that it should not be viewed by
younger
children, but that is no reason to deprive all of
the
Canadian ECW
fans that have to resort to getting someone in the
USA to
tape off the show for them or to watch it on the
internet.
Neither of
these methods
is as
effective as watching it on TSN. A good time to put
ECW on your
station would
be late at night. its only an hour long program, so
its not all
that hard to fit in. A lot of times in the early
mornings, you
play "The World's Strongest Man" competitions but
you could
fill that slot with ECW. An ideal time for it would
be either
1 a.m. or 4 a.m. EST. on Friday or Saturday nights.
I'm sure that
even if you run a trial period, where you play only
a
few weeks of
ECW to see how the fans react, you would get good
responses.
There are a lot of people in Canada that would love
to
watch ECW and
I'm sure they would watch it on TSN. I think that it
would be a
great ratings move because as you know, wrestling is
among your
top rated programs every week. Please consider
putting ECW into
your
programming
schedule for all the ECW fans in Canada.
Thank you

I think WWF
should use the talents of Jason Sensation a little
more.
I mean he was
the one who started the nugget chants for Owen Hart.
He should
be used once a show, during a dull match. This does
two things, keeps the viewers watching during these
dull matches and it makes the
dull wrestlers
get over with the fans. It also would make Jason a
star.
Jason Sensation should
come out one Raw and do his best
impression of
the WCW play-by-play guys. Jason should say, in his
best Mike
Tenay voice, something stupid about the Light
Heavyweights. Like
what the name
of Taka Michinuku's mother'shairstylist is. Than in
his best
Tony Schavonie voice should say "The other' shows
main event is
only ten
seconds, but my shows main event is a bunch of 40
year old
has beens in a chess match. Then Jason Sensation
should say in his
best Larry
Zybyszco voice, "I would rather be playing on the
Senior PGA
tour than be here in this stupid company." Jason
Sensation would
be on the lower
WWF shows like Livewire or Superstars.

Lethal
Injection
By: Ryan Oaks
(Venom)
Any questions or comments are
only to be sent to
Warriorism
This edition of
Lethal Injection will be directed at the WWF.
Okay, look
people, there were some misunderstandings from my
last
article. It was
about how WCW is in my opinion the Worlds Crappiest
Wrestling. Well
yes, I do believe that is true and you may not but I
don't care
because you didn't write it. The misconception that
I am
biased in favor
of the WWF is totally false. I have received many
responses and
all positive, except for one of them, but that was
half
positive and half of it was disagreeing with me.
That’s fine, though,
because he
brings up some valid points and he has his own
opinion and
I love to see
that. Therefore,
to clear up any
misconceptions that I think the WWF is flawless I am
writing this
article about the WWF, and the mistakes it has made
in my
opinion. Of
course it will not be as long as the WCW column, but
that's my
point.
WWF has made a
lot less stupid moves than WCW has. First lets start
off with
Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love. These are all
the
personalities
that Mick Foley plays in his WWF role. This man is
way
under rated and
I am getting really pissed at the people that boo
him and
say that he sucks etc. These people that say these
things are
obviously not true wrestling fans. Mick Foley is one
of
the best
members that WWF could hope to have on their roster.
How do
they treat
him?? They send him out week after week and have him
job
to Shamrock, or
lose a cage match after he had it won. These type of
things are
pissing me off because Mick is a great talent that
the WWF
should be proud to have on their list. Instead they
have him come out
and they let
Shamrock make him look like a fool. I'll tell you
something, I
have seen
the hardcore Cactus Jack matches and I know for a
damn fact that he
could take on
anyone in the WWF, including Stone Cold. Now they
are having
Shamrock beat him.
This brings me
to my next point. Shamrock comes out every week and
first he will
be having a normal match and then when he is losing
he
"goes nuts". I
have tremendous respect for Shamrock and I think he
is a great
talent in wrestling. He made the transition very
well from
Ultimate Fighting to the WWF, which is more than I
can say for Dan Severn. Anyway,
this thing with Ken freaking out is a very stupid
thing. He
didn't get that pissed in his UFC matches, so why
would he now? They
need to make
him into something more than a maniac and hopefully
we will
see this as soon
as he gets into
his heel gimmick comfortably. This man would be a
great talent
if the WWF uses
him the way he can be used best.
Another thing I
am getting tired of is the quality of matches. This
is directed at
wrestling as a sport, no federations in particular.
I
watch both Raw
and Nitro and I see almost all the matches are being
interfered in
unless it’s a jobber match and I even see it
sometimes in
those. I am
sick and tired of seeing Chyna cause Triple H to
win. Triple H has
talent so let
him do it himself. If a wrestler needs someone to
cause him
to win he should not be a wrestler and that's it. I
see Hogan
come out for a match and sometimes the match won’t
even get underway, it
is just a big gang
attacking the
opponent. Not singling out the NWO in particular but
all the little
factions in wrestling.
Also, I am not
a big fan of DX, but in my opinion, this was a
wonderful
idea the WWF came up with. It started out with HBK
and Triple H. Then of
course the NAO
got involved. Then WWF realized that Michaels was
funny but he
just didn't belong in DX because DX is a thing with
younger
upcoming wrestlers. Ever since X-Pac came and Triple
H took over
I have seen a
major improvement in both of these superstars.
Triple H is
on his way to
being the main event at the WWF shows. Right now he
is toying
with the IC title and soon, very soon he will be
wearing the
World Title
around his waist. I think that after this SCSA,
Undertaker,
McMahon triangle is over that The Rock and Triple H
will be the 2 main superstars for the WWF.
As for X-Pac, he is
messing around with
the European
title picture and might stay in there. I personally
would like to
see X-Pac fighting for the Light Heavyweight Title
so that
that division could get started into being a
regularly defended
title. I want
X-Pac to take that title
from Taka
Michinoku, since Taka is too busy to defend it due
to his
thing with
Kaintai. Another suggestion would be
for X-Pac to
compete for the IC Title.
There, I didn’t
criticize too much but I gave my opinions and that’s
it. I
told you all what I thought was wrong with the WWF
and then I gave
you my opinions
on the WWF performers. This is just my take on the
whole
deal. I of course expect criticism and welcome it.
