The Wrestling Booking Sheet
RATINGS FOR SEPTEMBER 27th,
1999
Reported by Dave
Scherer at:
http://www.1wrestling.com
The ratings are in for
the evening of 9/27 and once again, the WWF
pasted WCW. Raw did a
6.8 rating and a 10.0 share off of hours of 6.5
(9.1 share) and 7.0
(10.8 share). Nitro countered with a 3.0 rating
and a 4.5 share off of
hours of 4.1 (6.1 share), 2.4 (3.6) and 2.6
(4.0). The
head-to-head number for Nitro was 2.5 with a 3.7 share.
Monday Night Football
did a 13.3 broadcast rating and a 22 share.
The most compelling
story of the evening took place at the 10:00 hour,
as the Mankind-Rock
skit did a Monday Night Wars record quarter hour of
an 8.4, while WCW
scored a horrible quarter of 1.6. Whatever you
thought about that
skit, people watched it.
The rest of the
weekend ratings for the period ending 9/26 saw the 9/26
Heat do a 3.2 rating
with a 5.5 share. That is quite a drop from last
week's number. The
9/25 WCW Saturday Night show did a 1.5 rating with
a 3.3 share. The 9/25
edition of Livewire did a 1.9 rating with a 5.5
share. The 9/26
edition of Superstars did a 2.2 rating with a 6.1
share.
SHANE DOUGLAS TO
UNDERGO SURGERY
Reported by Bob Ryder
at:
http://www.1wrestling.com
Shane Douglas is
expected to have surgery to repair his injured bicep
either this Friday, or
on October 13.
Douglas will be out of action
for an undetermined
amount of time, but will still be involved in an
on-air role with the
Revolution while he recovers.
DAVID FLAIR'S PUSH
A reader of ours,
Byron (NIMROD19),
reminded me of the timing
of David Flair's push.
The bogus US Title reign began shortly after
"Little Natch" Charles
Robinson was injured by Randy Savage; David
basically just stepped
into Robinson's shoes. Unfortunately, Robinson
was far more
entertaining in the role…

WWF MONDAY NIGHT RAW
LIVE FROM:
GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA
By Rick Phelps (wrestleric)
Still and live shots
were shown from last night's Unforgiven. Vince
McMahon was then shown
coming to terms with WWF officials and told them
that they needed to
seize their authority if need be.
--New WWF champion
Triple H said that he proved once again that he is
stronger than all and
that he is the game. Triple H said that the best part
of the night is when
Stone Cold Steve Austin counted his three count to
the title over the
Rock. "The Game" said he would not rest until he
beat
Austin in the ring. The
British Bulldog then came out and reminded
Triple H that the
champion promised if he regained the belt, he would give
the Bulldog a shot.
Triple H said that he lied and that the Bulldog was not
going to get anything.
The two men then began fighting until officials
broke it up and Vince
McMahon making his way to the ramp. McMahon
ordered that Triple H
defend the title tonight against the Rock.
--In the back Jeff
Jarrett was talking to Tom Pritchard while Mankind
was talking to someone
under a black sheet saying that he was nuts for
putting a DDT on the
Rock, but (whoever was under the sheet) would make
him feel better.
--Test and Stephanie
McMahon were seen tuxedo shopping.
--Jeff Jarrett said
that the women were getting out of control and
challenged Chyna and
Debra to a match against himself and Tom Pritchard.
The Big Show versus
Chris Jericho w/Curtis Hughes
The Big Show won this
match by DQ when the big
Prince Albert, who was
at the broadcast
position, dropkicked Show from the top rope. The Road
Dogg rushed Hughes but
could not catch up to a fleeing
Jericho.
Winner: The Big Show
via disqualification
--Mankind was in the
back talking to the person under the sheet when
Stevie Richards, who
was dressed as Dude Love asked if he could be Dude
Love. Foley gave his
approval.
--Chyna told Michael
Cole that she accepted Jarrett's challenge but
told Debra that she
might want to stay away from the ring or she could
become a casualty.
--SCSA arrived in
Greensboro. Austin ordered Vince McMahon to come to
the ring because he
felt McMahon had some explaining to do since SCSA
was promised the first
title shot after Unforgiven. Vince conceded that
he did guarantee
Austin a title shot, but did not say when. McMahon
then guaranteed the
Rattlesnake a title shot at "No Mercy." Austin
warned McMahon by
speaking very quietly that if McMahon did not keep
his word that he would
stomp a mudhole in McMahon's a$$.
--On GTV Joey Abs and
Rodney were in towels, apparently after spending
"quality time" with
Terri Runnels. As Pete Gas was preparing to go into
the bedroom, Abs and
Rodney told her that she was old news and told her
to leave.
D'Lo Brown (c) versus
Steve Blackman *WWF European Championship*
Blackman was
disqualified when he began wailing on Brown with his kendo
stick. Blackman then
attacked the head of security and left him lying.
Droz (who was at the
broadcast position) then got up, attacked D'Lo
and threw up on him.
Mark Henry came to the aid of Brown, who was not
very warm to his
former friends advances.
Winner: D'Lo Brown via
disqualification (Retains European Title)
--On his way to the
ring, Mankind invited SCSA to come to the ring to
join his party. Austin
politely rejected the invitation. Mankind said
that since he stuck
Socko in the Rock's mouth last night, he came up
with a way to make it
up to him. Mankind presented the Rock with his
own version of "This
is Your Life". He then presented the Rock with his
former home economics
teacher, high school football coach and high
school sweetheart. In
the comical way that only the Rock can, he
dismissed all three of
those people after reminding them of something
they had done in the
past to make him mad. Mankind then brought out
from under the sheet
his friend the clown.
Mankind presented the
Rock with his own sock, "Rocko" and a jacket that
read the Rock -N- Sock
connection. Triple H tried to ruin the party by
taking a swing at the
Rock with a sledge hammer, but the Rock ducked
out of the ring in the
nick of time. On a sidenote, the Rock pointed
out that his birthday
was May 6. Mankind said that he knew that but
every time he gets to
spend time with the Rock, it feels like someone's
birthday.
The New Age Outlaws
versus X-Pac/Kane
The Outlaws laid out
an open challenge to any two wrestlers in the WWF.
However, there was no
clear cut winner as the Holly cousins
interfered. All four
men shook hands in the end, after beating the tar
out of the Holly's.
Winners: The New Age
Outlaws via disqualification
--Mae Young and The
Fabulous Moolah told Terry Taylor that they were
going to show Ivory
that you are never to old to kick some a$$.
Ivory versus Mae
Young/Fabulous Moolah *Evening Gown Match*
In order to win, Ivory
would have to strip both of her opponents in
this handicap match.
Mae Young was stripped down to her personals,
however, Moolah
wasn't, and she stripped the Women's champion to gain
the victory for her
team.
Winners: Fabulous
Moolah/Mae Young
--GTV picked up Val
Venis pulling Rocko the sock out of the trash can
and stuffing it in his
jeans.
Jeff Jarrett/Tom
Pritchard w/Miss Kitty versus Chyna/Debra
Jarrett agreed in this
match that if he was pinned by Chyna in this
match, that she would
receive another I-C title shot at No Mercy. In
the end, Pritchard
nailed Chyna with the guitar, who fell on top of
Jarrett for the three
count.
Winners: Chyna/Debra
via pinfall
Triple H (c) versus
The Rock *WWF Championship*
SCSA joined Jim Ross
and Jerry Lawler for this match. These two men
literally fought all
over the arena. In the end while the referee was
down, Triple H goaded
Austin into the ring and gave the champ a stunner. The
Rock followed up with
a Rock Bottom but did not capitalize. As the
ref's hand was going
down for the three count, the Bulldog rushed the
ring and attacked the
Rock and then Triple H.
Winner: The Rock via
disqualification
