FOLEY & TORI THOUGHTS
Written by reader:
JlBt911
1) Tori may very well become
the new member
of Dx, which would cause Kane
to have his
2nd closest friend in a few
months stab
him in the back, perhaps
setting up the
return of a Kane/Undertaker
angle and
bringing Kane back to the
merciless,
heartless killer status and
propelling
him into World Title
contender status.
2) The reason Mankind was
fired and the
reason it will be Cactus Jack
facing HHH
for the title at some point
is rumored to
be because the WWF does not
want to have
Mick Foley tie Hogan & Hart's
world title
total at 5. That's a rumor,
of course...
++++++++++++++++
Steve Appy responds:
I would assume that the WWF
would LOVE to push
Foley (or Austin, The Rock &
HHH) over Hogan &
Hart's title reign record. I
can't imagine
that Vince McMahon would be
inclined to protect
Hart & Hogan's "sacred
status"; with a World
Title switch occurring every
month or so, I
imagine one of them will do
it before 2000 is
over…

APPLAUSE FOR MICK FOLEY
Written by reader:
E1boarder
Mick Foley has had many great
matches, many
catapulting him to "legend"
status and
beyond. He's had a
best-selling book, which
is a first for wrestling.
Every week he
entertains us with funny
interviews and more
great matches. So how come
the fans don't
respect him?
Mankind walks down the ramp
and gets a good
pop. Slightly more than
medium at best. His
partner's music comes on. As
The Rock walks
down the ramp, what does he
get but the
biggest pop of the night.
Why?
What has The Rock done to
entertain us? Given
us a couple of okay matches?
Rattled off a
few catchphrases? That's all
he does, yet he
gets a bigger pop than
Mankind, who has
sacrificed his own well-being
to entertain us,
the fans, the people who are
chanting "Rocky,
Rocky, Rocky."
Come on guys. Mick Foley's
career is almost
over. If you get the chance
to see him live,
why don't you start up a
"Foley" chant
instead of a "Rocky" one? Or
at least "Rock
and Sock." Give the guy a
little respect,
he's given us way more than
that.

THE ROCK
Written by reader: David
LeBleu (dlebleu)
I honestly don't know why so
many people are
down on the ROCK. I can't
help but dig the
guy. He is incredible at
playing his larger
than life character. The only
one that comes
close would be HBK. I
understand that The
Rock is actually a pretty
nice guy when he's
not in form. I like The
Rock's catch-phrases;
sure they're a little
repetitive, but give it
time.
I love the way that "one
trick pony" draws you
into his matches. His
charisma is magnetic. The
Rock is like a great comic
book character made
real. He just needs a nemesis
with a comparable
personality. His feuds with
Foley (God, I'll
miss that guy) were great,
but Mick is so over
as a face, he can't bring the
Super Hero side of
The Rock to full bloom.
A return by a true heel
Austin would be
fantastic and enthralling,
something that both
WWF and WCW are missing,
something that stirs
the crowd on a deeper level.
Face it, Austin
made the Rock famous and they
are such a
contrast to each other, and
it seems credible.
The Rock can work a crowd
like no living being,
God help us if he ever go
into politics. Then
again, how much damage could
possibly be done.
-David
